I have plugged the ethernet cord into my new laptop, but the internet options only lists wireless options and I don’t have wireless. So far I have not been able to get online because the computer doesn’t recognize my LAN. Please help!
I have my own dinosaur with XP that a relative is a user on. He wants his own laptop. I understand that certain vendors will offer coupons for a switch to Windows 7 from Vista (in June or July) with a newly bought computer that still has vista. Is it better to wait until supposedly Oct. 22nd to just buy the new one with Windows 7 already installed rather then going through an upgrade from the MS website if I bought now?
Im gettting a new laptop but i have alot of pictures on my old one that i still wanna keep, how do i do this?
Okay, so I just got a new laptop, and all my pictures, music, and important documents are on my old pc. I need to transfer them to my laptop in a relatively quick and easy way (I’m not extremely tech savvy). What can I do?
Don’t have an iPod or mp3 player. I do have Vista so I’ll definitely try that. Thank you!
My old laptop, is very broken, the mouse/touchpad are unusable, it doesn’t often actually turn on, and the USB sockets are all broken.
How can I get my files onto my new laptop?
Can I extract my harddrive and attach it to my new one or something?
I’m not computer savvy really, so don’t use technical words please!
Have you been able to replace Vista with XP? How does the machine work?
I am planning to purchase a new Laptop in a couple weeks. I hate Windows Vista. I have a store bought full version of Windows XP with SP2. I want to remove Vista and install XP.
Please share your experiences.
I’m completely new to the laptop thing, I just ordered a Macbook Air for college. When it arrives in the mail, how would I go about connecting it to the internet? I’ve heard of wi-fi and stuff but I dont know whats the best way to do this. I really appreciate your help.
I am going to be getting a new laptop and I don’t know what I will need. I am looking at Dell or HP and I am really set on either of the two. I will only use it for my personal use. I would really like to know what it will cost me, how to hook up to the internet, and what types of software I should use.
My old laptop just died, and I am considering options to purchase a new notebook computer. From my research, I am interested in purchasing an HP Pavilion DV4015CL Notebook. It retails for US $1,699.99.
I am on a limited budget, having just started a new job, and I am trying to consider options for how to legally finance this purchase. Does anyone have any ideas? I don’t want to say “I can’t afford this”,because it doesn’t help my situation. My philosophy is that when you ask “how can I afford this?”, it provides you with more options to think outside the box, and is not so limited or self-defeating.
Any ideas or suggestions will be welcome. For instance, I thought about investing in stocks, but I don’t know too much about that.
I’m going to buy a new laptop, but can’t decide between two models. One with Bluetooth, the other without. I’m wondering how important is Bluetooth. I’ll get a cell phone with Bluetooth capability. Are people using Bluetooth and cell phone to connect their laptops on the Internet? I know this is expensive right now, but will this bluetooth link become essential over time? If it’s just something nice to have, I’m leaning towards skipping it. Could someone knowledgeable please speak from your experience? Thanks.
